Designing has always been a passion for me. Since I can remember I would always find a way to incorporate the latest fashion trends while at the same time adding a personal touch in order to stand out from every one else. Instead of getting ideas straight from the runways I searched for unique trends amd gave them a little twist.
The idea for Le Petite Couture started in the summer of 2004. I had recently graduated from FIDM (The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Los Angeles and I found myself unemployed with no money to spend on clothing! However, as a fashion lover that I am; I of course wanted to look cute, original, and wear the latest trends. In my desperation, I grabbed some of my blank tops and took out my mothers sewing and mending box, where I found bits and pieces of different fabrics and trims and started sewing them on and creating unique little tops with a special detail. I visited many thrift stores, and later went on to trim and fabric stores. I slowly found my self re-designing tops for friends, and making cute gifts.
A year later, my partner and I decided that it was time to start making money from my creative talent. The next step was to start offering these one-of-a-kind collections to the public and on August 2005 "Le Petite Couture" was born. One month later, we started selling the tops every Sunday at a La Jolla market and to all of our friends.
In 2007 we also launched our maternity line and cute little travel sets with some unique designs.
Le Petite Couture has also participated in local fashion shows and several independent fashion events. The brand has begun gaining a good reputation in Southern California as we begin selling our collections in boutiques.
Thank you all for your support,
